Here’s What Happens When You’re Low Energy With Your Style

When you don't put effort into your personal style you're transmitting low energy vibes to the world. And this encourages others to be low energy or unresponsive with you. But when you place high value on what you wear, and dress your best everyday, you’re conveying a higher self worth to others and yourself which not only raises your style confidence, you’re telling the world that you’re high value! Here's why your style rut is keeping you in low energy and how to get out of it. #personalstyle

Are you stuck in a low energy of wearing the same few outfits all the time? Maybe nothing fits how you like and you don’t know what else to wear. Or perhaps you’ve lost touch with what’s YOU, and what you enjoy wearing. Either way, you still have to get dressed so you end up on autopilot—reverting to the same couple pieces everyday.

And read on for my stylist advice.

Low Energy In = Low Energy Out

This is a basic principle that what you put out is what you receive. If you’re not putting much effort into your appearance – how you look and what you wear – you’re broadcasting low vibes. Not only does this tell the world that you’re low energy, but it encourages people to respond with low energy.

On the flip side, when you take time with your outfits you’re showing other people that you care. But more importantly, you’re showing yourself that you’re worth that extra time and attention.

    Living The Style Rut

When you continue to put little effort into your style, you perpetuate your belief that no outfit options exist. As the sense of powerlessness persists, you sink deeper into your rut. And then it feels impossible to break free of this vicious cycle.

Overcoming your rut requires change. But you only have to take one small step at a time. It’s these tiny shifts that enable you to break the cycle.

    Lost Self Esteem

The payoff for investing time and energy into your personal style is a higher self esteem. When you put together outfits you feel good wearing it impacts how you show up in the world. And when you show up differently, people take notice and receive you differently. It’s how you’re received by others that affects your self confidence. If others are receiving you with respect and adoration, then it’s going to raise your self esteem. The beauty is that the more others receive you well, the more enthusiasm you’ll have to put energy into your style, and you’ve created a positive feedback loop.

Missing Out On Fun

You don’t have to care about designers, enjoy shopping or feel passionate about clothes to have fun with your style. And while you may feel dissatisfaction over your body, or the items in your closet aren’t exactly what you want to wear, when you approach your wardrobe with an attitude of curiosity, outfit planning can be fun!

Mixing and matching is just playing around in your closet. It’s creative and should not be taken seriously. Keep it light! And get resourceful by seeing how you can bring your clothes together in ways you never thought of. There’s always an opportunity to change your outfit if you don’t like it. But if you never bother to try, you’ll never come up with that next amazing look.

When you’re low energy with your style, you’re transmitting low energy vibes which encourages others to respond with low energy. But when you take time for yourself and put effort into your appearance, you’re showing others (and yourself!) that you’re worth that extra time and attention. And by placing high value on yourself, you’re telling the world that you’re high value!

    2. Hi, I’ve just found your blog via Imogen Lamport’s Inside Out Style Blog and I have must say, i’ve watched this video at the right time. I have an important phone interview tomorrow for a job that I’ve been wanting. So now, instead of just wearing whatever, I am going to make the effort to get dressed up into professional work clothes, hair and makeup done and hopefully ‘exude’ all that confidence in my phone manner.
      Wish me luck.
