Real Style Tip For Today

    Get a massage!

    Massage-Therapy-Massage

Though not a form of meditation, the healing art of bodywork is definitely an opportunity to practice mindfulness…perhaps in the most relaxing fashion! And similar to yoga– massage has the built-in benefit of getting into your body, so you can get out of your head.

If you can hire a pro – do it!
Otherwise, offer to trade with a close friend. Set a timer for 20 mins and take turns massaging each other.

When it’s your turn to receive, try to keep your awareness with the massage. Stay focused on every sensation that moves through your body. You may notice that a gesture on one side carries through to the other end. (It’s all connected so a muscle in your back may ripple up & relieve your neck.)

    Feel it.
    Enjoy!

Treat it like your meditation by using the hands of the masseuse as your anchor. When your mind wanders towards your to-do list, or another meddling thought– kindly encourage your attention back to the massage, and specifically which muscles are being worked on.

Once it’s done you’ll not only look and feel refreshed,
You’ll have nourished your mind, body and soul –together.

    1. Totally agree! I have a great massage therapist and refer him often to my clients. Massage is helpful for keeping the body balanced and pain-free!

    2. I think many of us refer to massage as a luxury. Or indulgence. But when you call it your massage therapist...it makes much more sense. It is therapeutic! Thanks for your comment, Susie.

    3. I have been wanting to get a massage for so long, but I never seem to make the time for it. I don’t know why that is…hmmm. For some reason, I’m not getting your blog in my reader. I’ll try setting it up again.

    4. Sara, I don’t schedule massages enough either. But I just had one the other day which not only inspired my post…it reminded me I need to make more time for it. Thanks for re-following…self hosted sites (which is what mine is) show up in the reader several hours after posting..sometimes not even until the next day. So I guess it depends on when you’re scrolling through your reader whether you’ll see my blog or not. Thanks again! I appreciate your comment.

Ahhhh, yes! Love your description and tip about how to make the massage a meditation, Elysha. I am certain that my frequent massages and bodywork have made it possible for me to keep dancing in such an athletic and vigorous way. It also feels so wonderful–replenishing for mind, body and soul, as you say. See you there, my friend! xoxo

    6. What a fantastic visual you’ve given me, ST — you dancing in such an athletic and vigorous way– Love it! Keep at it!! xx + Big hug to you, my dear friend.
