From the long and strong physique, to the grace and ease of movement, a dancer’s body has always intrigued me. But the thing is, I have no dancer’s experience. So taking dance class has never really been my thing because when it’s time to follow choreography, I’m kind of a mess.
A dancer’s workout, however, may be something I could do as I’m much more comfortable in the exercise arena. So when I found this ballet bootcamp on Sweaty Betty’s workout channel I decided to give it a go.
What I discovered was I’m still terrible at choreography, no matter how simple the moves are. (Pro tip: when you do the video, pay attention when they go over the steps at the beginning, it’ll help you when it’s time to go through that routine!) Also, the lengthening and stretching built into this class is incredibly complementary for a yoga practice with the added bonus of strengthening exercises.
