For 2016, Pantone chose not one, but two shades – Rose Quartz and Serenity as their colors of the year. While the trend setting company’s selection always plays a major factor in what we’re wearing and seeing in stores, this year’s picks mark a major shift towards health and wellness in our culture.
From Pantone’s website:
As consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security are becoming more prominent.
It’s a bit of an outside in approach, but why not if it’ll help get our mindfulness and wellbeing on.
Here are 6 pieces in rose quartz and serenity to consider bringing into your wardrobe rotation.
A classic plaid coat will never grow old in your wardrobe. To keep the styling fresh, try one in baby blue.
Need a nice color pop for your neutrally toned top? Try a soft pink hat to balance out the beige.
Texture is big this winter. And so are wide legged pants. Put the two together in serenity blue, and you’ve got your statement pants for 2016.
A cropped turtleneck sweater wears so well with a high waisted skirt or pants. Just keep it away from your yoga pants and leggings.
When heading out at night, a simple clutch is the call. The envelope style here will remind you to pack light.
Perfect for NYE, pair this beauty with a rocker tee and high heeled boots for a thrashing princess vibe.
