Have you noticed the shop windows are now all fall?
Yep, it’s happening.
Summer is slowly slipping away as the new season starts to shape up with new silhouettes.
My body is still quite content in a pair of botanica shorts and huarache sandals. But it can be kind of fun to start prepping for what’s coming next.
The Top 5 Fall Trends I’ll Be Wearing
1. Cool Sneaks
Fall is looking mighty comfortable as flats and my fave — SNEAKERS — slinked down the AW ’14 runways. I could probably still do with the pair I bought 2 years ago. But if I was going to invest…it would be on something like these.
2. Graphic Prints
A strong print can totally make an outfit in an all or nothing kind of way. Have fun mixing patterns and prints, but don’t get lost in a hexagonal spin.
3. Blues
Forget black. It’s not noticeable and can really detract from your energy. Instead, turn towards an elegant blue. Any shade will do– so find the one that flatters your skin tone best.
4. Shearling Or Something Similar
This just may be the year of the shearling splurge. Think 60’s rockstar topped off with a heavy British accent…that would feel alright.
5. Dresses Over Pants
As a huge advocate for this look in the 90s, I continue to go this route often — but mostly in more of a tunic / legging combo. The key to keeping this silhouette in check is to go for a streamlined, shift style dress. Also, if you go tonal in your color choices, it’ll add fluidity. Or you could get playful, and pair with a lively print.
Which one of these trends will you try?
