Have you ever considered the connection between reaching goals and your clothes?
At first, it may seem like WHAAAT?!? How does what I wear have anything to do with my goals in life?
Well, for starters, let’s look at what you’re wearing right now. Do you like your outfit? Or is it unexciting?
When you put on an unexciting outfit, you’re less than enthusiastic to go after your goals.
(On a side note, if your unexciting outfit makes you feel uncomfortable, it could be holding you back. Because if you’re fidgeting with your blouse, you’re focusing on your blouse and not your goals.)
But if you wear something more exciting, like a super flattering dress with an amazing pair of shoes, you’re like YES! You feel unstoppable.
And when you feel unstoppable, you’re more likely to achieve your goals.
Click play to watch the video where I take you through the 3 steps to use your clothes to get what you want in life.
And read on to learn how to align your clothing with your goals.
1. Decide On Your Goal
To use your clothes to reach your goals, you must know what you want to achieve. Think about your goal for the day.
Ask yourself, who do I need to be today? How do I want to feel? What aspects of myself must I bring forward to reach my goals?
Once you’ve determined what you want to achieve, set the intention to be who you need to be, feel how you want to feel, and bring forward the qualities that will help you achieve your goal.
2. Choose Your Success Piece
Have you ever heard of a lucky shirt? Maybe you know someone who has one. Or maybe it’s you. (It could also be a lucky hat, lucky scarf, lucky sweater, lucky anything really…) It’s the item worn on a big day to see big results. A lot of athletes do this.
We all know the shirt itself isn’t lucky. The shirt has been granted lucky status because of the intention that’s placed when putting the shirt on. The person who puts on her lucky shirt intends to win. The lucky shirt is what she wears as a winner.
Using Your Clothes For Reaching Goals
To use your clothes to achieve your goals, pick an item that gives you confidence. Maybe it makes you feel lucky. Or maybe it just grounds you deeper into who you are.
I have a lucky pair of earrings. They’re star shaped and I wear them when I want to feel extra radiant. As I put them on, I take a few moments to tap into the feelings that I want to have as I reach my goal. And I imbue the earrings with luck so they help me rise to the occasion that’s in front of me.
3. Believe You’ll Achieve Your Goal
A basic principle for reaching goals is to believe that you’ll achieve them. And the same goes for believing in the luck you’ve attributed to your success piece.
Before each soccer game, my son Milo will pull his socks up all the way. It’s his pre-game ritual that signals he’s the guy who wins the game. The socks help him become the winner.
You can do the same with your success piece! Whatever you decide to wear, know it’s the totem that represents achieving your goals. Let it remind you of who you need to be, and how you want to feel. And allow it to help you tap into the qualities that bring you closer to reaching your goals.
The more you achieve wearing your success piece, the more momentum you’ll gain. And the easier it becomes to be the person who reaches her goals.
my lucky star is a super long string of black pearls that I can wrap around 3 times…ever since I got them, my life has been going really well!!!
