The fact that sneakers are having a major moment in fashion makes me incredibly excited. With styles going well beyond the basics in fabrications and design, options abound without ever sacrificing comfort!
As I set out to find my next pair of sneakers, there were two criteria that must be met:
1. They must have at least an inch on the heel, yet no wedges allowed.
2. They must be priced under $200. High end sneakers have saturated the market, and as cool as some may look – I will not burn a hole in my wallet for a pair of trainers.
So with that said…
Here is my round up of fashionably affordable kicks.
You may have noticed that Stan Smiths are really happening right now. And with good reason! They’re super versatile with an old school charm. This black and gold pair would probably be my pick though there are some other colors (like the oxford/blue/gold patterned ones) that come in a close second.
And since we’re on the topic of old school…I think I had these Nikes when I was a kid. (Did you used to wear your new sneakers straight out of the store? I always did!) Now, I’d wear these for the perfect color pop to brighten up my monotone look.
As I was browsing the internet, I came across a pair by Rachel Zoe that were very similar to this classic pair of New Balance which leads me to believe this style is in high demand.
I don’t think you can go wrong in these neutrally toned go-with-everything pair by Joie.
These are a bit cray, but I am loving the serious platform and mix of colors. I could probably channel Bjork while wearing these.
Bold colors. Mixed patterns. 1.25″ of height. These Adidas X Mary Katrantzou are my everything. (I got the last pair in my size!)
What’s your go-to pair of sneakers?
