It doesn’t take a complete wardrobe overhaul to feel better about your look. In fact, I’ve noticed that making tiny shifts in how I approach my style elevates the way I feel overall.

1. Go For The Feel
After I hit 40, the fabrics I chose to wear mattered. That meant my cute vintage polyester jumpsuit would no longer work. It’s not that I don’t love the jumpsuit. It’s that I don’t like how polyester feels against my skin. It makes me hot and itchy. By taking extra care with your fabric choice, you’ll feel better in what you wear.
2. Wear Jewelry
A lot of women rush out of their houses each day without jewelry. And I don’t understand why because it’s the easiest way to upgrade your style. I get that you may not want to weigh yourself down with heavy statement earrings, but why wouldn’t you pop on your pretty diamond studs? Jewelry finishes an outfit the way an exclamation point ends your sentence. It demands excitement.
3. Nice Hangers
It took me years to get this right. As a stylist I’d always end up with cheap plastic hangers from shoots. So I never thought about my hangers. I just took what was there. But then I discovered these thin velvet kind, and couldn’t believe it took me this long to make the change. First off, they’re not expensive. And most important, they make me feel happy when I see my clothes nice and organized in the closet. My upgraded style deserves these pretty hangers!
4. Fresh Lips
This lip balm has made a big impact on how I feel. Too often I’d forget to put on lipstick before heading out the door, so I’d apply this in the elevator for a polished finish. I love the slight tint that’s not too overdone. And the SPF protection will help keep my lips smooth.
5. Tailor Trips
I’m a huge advocate for a perfect fit. If you ever have something in your closet that you’re not loving, try taking it to the tailor! I recently did it with an old blazer and now I’m wearing this thing all the time. Spending that extra money is worth it when you’ll get more wear out of your garment. Plus when something fits you just right, it’s a major upgrade to your confidence and style.

I’m crazy about white jeans this time of ear with a thick leather belt in either brown or black and a man’s watch with a leather strap. black velvet flats and crystal jewelry to feminize it. Also buying things off season you can get great deals. I bought a full length real camel hair coat for just a few dollars…so luxurious and yes I don’t really like synthetics Elysha, either. one exception is viscose.
Learning what body shape I am ( H), and adjusting my selections to those rules
Nice, Alli!
So true about getting the good deals off season, Pamela! Happy you’re taking advantage of that!
I wear red lipstick almost everyday. I ever shade depending on the season. 💋💄
Nice!
