Do you agree that style is an inside job, and that how we look really relies on what we’re thinking and believing about ourselves?
Or do you see style more as something that you create based on what you find outside of yourself like from fashion trends and other people?
While I definitely gain inspiration from the outside, it can’t really become MY style until I’ve filtered it through my experiences, my thoughts and my beliefs. So to me, style is 100% an inside job that must begin with yourself.
Your Style Is Your Best Expression
It’s about knowing who you are and how you want to show up. And one thing that I find is keeping a lot of women from fully expressing their style is an unhealthy mindset.
The mind wants to stay busy so it keeps itself active by constantly triggering you to do things – pick up your phone, eat that ice cream, buy that dress! It doesn’t matter if these activities are right for you…it’s just what your mind is telling you to do.
Your Mind Isn’t The Boss Of You
The mind isn’t always making the best decision. There’s a time and a place when we need our brainy smarts. But when we’re being guided into an unhealthy zone, and triggered into negativity, it’s time for a mindset makeover.
Whether you’re not comfortable in your body, or insecure about how to dress, a lot of the toxic self talk that circles around these issues can be alleviated when the mind is controlled.
Your Mindset Makeover
At the end of the day, looking and feeling your best is a mindset. Once you know how to let go of the negative stories that you’re carrying around – those mean voices in your head that keep saying you look big or basically that you’re just not good enough – you’ll create the mental space for self acceptance and self love.
The best way to get your mindset makeover in action is by connecting to the body, and I suggest doing exercise because it provides a fast track to making this connection.
In the video I explain how to use your exercise routine to build mental strength with 3 easy techniques that will lead to your mindset makeover.
What’s the one thing you need to stop telling yourself to have a mindset makeover?
