One of the biggest downsides to living in Manhattan is the lack of nature. It’s an urban jungle, dense in concrete and metal — aside for the tiny grass patches sprouting up in between the sidewalks. OK, I’m exaggerating slightly, there is the East River park which I run in regularly along with a few spots here and there to soak in some of earth’s splendor. But the real greenery, or oceans and animals…not so much in the city.
So to compensate, whenever we go on vacation, we usually choose nature laden destinations. And this summer it’s Iceland!
Here’s a little of what we’ve been up to this week. If you’re curious to see more, I post everyday on instagram.
Lots of geothermal activity in these parts.
Wild flowers abound!
The secret lagoon..it’s like a hot tub.
Water, mountains and greenery– just what I was looking for.
Still finding time to om.
Where do you found your most nature filled experiences?

WOW!! I heard on the radio that they tourists get great service (and prices) hitting Iceland in the winter along with a lot of attention because there aren’t many other brave souls around! Gorgeous post.

I don’t know if I’d come back in the dead of winter, but in fall perhaps…I’d love to see the Northern Lights!
