Remember when Stella McCartney was the only designer making fitness wear with their Adidas collections? (Still going strong!) Now, there’s a surplus of ready-to-wear designers that have moved into the arena which means getting dressed for your workout is way more fun.

After Stella, Norma Kamali is probably the next name that comes to mind for activewear. I’m in love with her entire collection (which may even merit an entire post), but this look is a good place to start.
Kate Spade has collabed with Beyond Yoga for a capsule collection of simply feminine style.
Trina Turk’s vibrant prints are perfect to wake you up and get you out to the gym.
Tory Sport was launched last fall, and is completely separate from the main brand. While I’m not one for obvious logos, the blending-in effect of Tory’s T suits me fine. The rest of the collection is covered in prints.
It makes perfect sense that swimwear designer, Mara Hoffman, branched into active apparel. Expect to complement your workout with bold bursts of color and major plays of pattern.
