My job as a personal fashion stylist means I need to know how to make all women look good. So when they need casual outfits, I must know the best jeans that work for most figures.
When styling a photo shoot, I rarely meet the people I’m styling. I’ll receive sizes and sometimes a photo, but basically I don’t know what their bodies look like. My job is to find the pieces that fit + flatter most figures so I can provide good options.
After years of working like this, on commercial shoots and with women online, I’ve come to trust certain brands that help me do my job better. I shop these labels on the regular knowing they’ll give me good results, making my clients happy.
So as we queue up for the in-between season when jeans become the go-to, I’ve rounded up the best denim brands to make you look awesome.
Here are 5 brands of the best jeans that look good on most bodies (click any image to visit the site):
Seven For All Mankind
I don’t only buy these for jobs, I have them myself. The dark rinse is totally flattering while the boot cut gives a long and lean look. I wear them with clogs — always a heel — since this look needs a little elevation. I’ve been relying on this brand for years as a staple that suits most women.
Recently, a client reminded me of the Paige jeans I got for her on a shoot (that she ended up buying). Before that pair, she hated wearing jeans; she felt her thighs were too big. But after trying these, she’s changed her tune…she’s now a denim wearing woman!
I love Levi’s! First off, their price is perfect for my tight shoot budgets. And secondly, they offer tons of variations on their standby classic.

Well made + affordable, I recently went into the NY showroom to check these out in person. My conclusion –> AMAZING! The downside –> sold out in many sizes. The good news –> they will be popping up at Nordstroms so you can try for yourself.
What I love about Madewell is that they range from petite to plus size on several variations. This makes them a good fit for most of my clients and those I style on set.
